Boguslaw Bartczak

Biography

BogusÅ‚aw Bartczak is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Warsaw. He brings more than 20 years of experience in turnarounds, restructuring and improving performance of companies in various industries, including retail, wholesale, logistics, consumer products (beer and beverages in particular), manufacturing and metal processing. With more than 20 years of experience in turnarounds and restructurings, Mr. Bartczak began his career in 1994 at Accenture in London and Warsaw. He was advising financial services clients on their back-office reorganization and IT systems related issues and on Polish market entry strategies. He also led a massive performance improvement for a leading food retailer in Poland. Prior to this, Mr. Bartczak worked for Carlsberg Breweries, where he held a number of senior executive roles (Vice President Operations Carlsberg Poland, CEO of Carlsberg Serbia, Vice President Western Europe at Carlsberg Breweries A / S and CEO of Carlsberg Italia).  Mr. Bartczak previously served as the CEO of a leading Polish aluminum group. In this role, he led a successful restructuring of this integrated business that comprised of an aluminum smelter, foundry, rolling mill and wire rod production. A key highlight of this engagement includes returning the business to overall profitability and increased production by almost 50%. He also turned around and completed a massive investment project in new rolling mills and upgrades of infrastructure, which had encountered serious delays and technological challenges.Mr. Bartczak earned a master's degree in electronic engineering and a postgraduate diploma in business administration from the Technical University of Łódź. He also studied Manufacturing and Engineering Management at Strathclyde University, Glasgow. A Polish national, he is fluent in English, can communicate in Russian and possesses a very basic knowledge of Serbo-Croatian.
