Brian Cejka

Biography

Brian Cejka is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Dallas and serves as co-head of the firm's North American Commercial Restructuring practice for the Southern Region. He specializes in developing creative financial, operational, and strategic solutions for corporate turnarounds and restructurings. Drawing on his extensive financial management and restructuring experience, Mr. Cejka has been involved in all aspects of the reorganization process for both debtor and creditor constituencies.His primary areas of focus include developing cash flow forecasting and cash preservation programs; formulating and evaluating strategic business and turnaround plans; and filling critical interim management positions to implement restructurings. He has also served an active role in negotiating recapitalization and refinancing plans, as well as plans of reorganization.Mr. Cejka has served in numerous interim management positions during restructurings. He was Acting Chief Executive Officer of TCFC Finance Co., which is the largest landholder in the Park City, UT area with holdings that include the Canyons and Park City Mountain Resort ski areas. He was also Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer of Palm Harbor Homes, a leading, publicly traded company that manufactured and sold factory-built homes and also offered mortgage and insurance products. Mr. Cejka was also Chief Restructuring Officer of Empire Today, a leading national flooring company; Interim CEO and Chief Restructuring Officer of Coach America, which was the largest motorcoach operator in the U.S.; and Chief Restructuring Officer of RoadLink, which was a national intermodal logistics company.Additionally, he was Restructuring Officer and Chief Financial Officer of National Energy and Gas Transmission Inc., which was a $4 billion company that operated merchant energy plants, interstate gas pipelines and independent power plants.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Cejka spent several years in the corporate restructuring group of a Big Four firm, where he served in various debtor and creditor advisory roles.Mr. Cejka earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Methodist University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (non-practicing) and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor. Mr. Cejka is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA).
