Biography
Bruce B. Cox is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Atlanta. He specializes in providing technology-enabled human capital solutions, as well as recruiting and deploying clinical resources to develop world-class utilization and case management organizations. With more than 25 years of financial management, operational and professional services experience within the healthcare industry, Mr. Cox has successfully launched and led organizations that experienced significant growth and superior financial performance.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Cox was an active angel investor, advisor and entrepreneur in the healthcare, financial services and technology sectors. He managed the successful sale of Callaway Partners, LLC, a professional services firm that he co-founded and led, to Huron Consulting Group. Prior to his departure from Huron, he was named Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Practice Leader. Callaway Partners was ranked number 14 on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing privately held companies, expanding from three to more than 500 employees in five years. Mr. Cox was named an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of Year Southeast Regional finalist for two consecutive years. Mr. Cox previously worked on payer / provider integration initiatives at The TriZetto Group and was Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Atlanta-based healthcare domain registrar dotMD, Inc. He also held senior finance positions with Medaphis Corporation (currently McKesson), including Manager of Mergers and Acquisitions, Divisional CFO, EVP of Marketing and Business Development and General Manager of Hospital Business Process Outsourcing Services. Before that, he was a Senior Financial Analyst – Strategic Planning and Acquisitions for Scientific-Atlanta. Mr. Cox began his career in the Atlanta office of Ernst & Whinney (E&Y).Mr. Cox earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Auburn University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia (inactive). He has served for six years as an executive committee member on the Dean's Advisory Council of Auburn University's Harbert School of Business and established scholarships in entrepreneurial studies.
