Biography
Chris Dunn is Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Financial Insurance Advisory Services practice in Dallas. As an experienced bank regulator, risk management specialist and banking strategist, he brings over 36 years of practical experience in the banking industry involving a range of economic and regulatory environments. Mr. Dunn has demonstrated the ability to help banks improve profitability while also strengthening and/or maintain risk management systems and help maintain regulatory compliance. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Dunn served as the Chief Risk Officer, EVP-Regulatory Affairs and Risk Strategy for Simmons Bank in Little Rock, AR for approximately two years. He was the Senior Executive responsible for the Risk Management Group, (RMG). The RMG incorporated all of the risk monitoring units of the bank which included: Compliance, BSA/AML, Fraud, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity, Enterprise Risk Management, Loan Review, Model Risk Management and DFAST compliance. Prior to working at Simmons, Mr. Dunn worked for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for 34 years as a national bank examiner. In this role, he served 26 years as the Assistant Deputy Comptroller/Field Manager in the Little Rock Field Office where he supervised a portfolio of 40 plus banks. As an ADC, Mr. Dunn worked with other OCC executives to effectively oversee the midsize and community bank supervision program and to develop systems and programs that promote a focus on achieving goals and priorities of the OCC. He provided direction on recruiting, personnel development and training, risk management, and financial management. Mr. Dunn earned a degree from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah with a bachelor of science degree in finance, magna cum laude.
