Christoph Hoerauf

Biography

Christoph Hoerauf is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Munich and brings more than 10 years of consulting experience. He specializes in advising clients on damages in international arbitration and litigation with a focus on data mining, data analysis and business modelling. Further, Mr. Hoerauf has six years of experience in the area of forensic technology, tools and methodologies and has been involved in large complex international investigations. Mr. Hoerauf has been involved in various international post-merger and commercial disputes with clients of different sectors, including financial services, automotive / transportation, healthcare, technology, industrial and consumer goods. He has worked with international teams on client projects in Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, UK, Ukraine and the United States. His recent assignments include working on a very large post-merger dispute in the pharmaceutical industry where he was in charge of assessing damages by calculating lost profits based on finance and production data extracted from the client’s data warehouse systems. Further, he was engaged by a large international client facing damage claims from a main supplier due to alleged wrongful termination of a long-term supply contract, for which Mr. Hoerauf ran extensive analyses to assess damages supporting the defendant. Recently, Mr. Hoerauf has also worked as an adviser to the supervisory board in a large forensic investigation at European Bank with focus on electronic discovery, data analytics, forensic accounting and review management, as well as a special investigation at a German Tier 1 automotive supplier where Mr. Hoerauf analyzed electronic data for indications of bribery. Mr. Hoerauf has teamed with A&M’s Financial Advisory practice and was engaged by a large financial institution for creation of risk assessments, portfolio analysis, tracking and reporting, where he implemented a data warehouse for tracking of the wind-down portfolio. Also, working together with A&M’s Performance Improvement practice running interim management, he was engaged to support a large private equity client running a rapid sales performance enhancement program and was in charge of sales force improvement measures. Prior to joining A&M, he worked for The Boston Consulting Group, specialized in pricing and spend analysis models, advanced data analytics and prototyping services. Mr. Hoerauf holds a master’s degree in Information Engineering from the Technical University of Cologne, Germany. A German national, he is fluent in German and English.
