Biography

Cody Chenault, a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in Houston. He focuses on improving companies back-office functions, with a specialty in shared services, outsourcing, and globalization projects that include organizational design, process redesign, shared services implementations and performance optimization. Most of Mr. Chenault’s consulting engagements occur within finance, human resources and procurement, and include both strategy and transformation projects. These cover a variety of industries, including consumer products manufacturing, telecommunications, media, manufacturing, energy and utilities, retail, communications and financial services.Serving as lead partner on developing a global shared services organization for a multinational manufacturer of engineered products. This project covered the entire lifecycle from strategy development to implementation of the solution, focusing on finance, HR, procurement, customer service, legal and IT. He assisted the client with all strategy and planning aspects, including building the business case and obtaining board approval.Served as lead partner in designing, developing and transitioning an F&A organization to a shared services outsourcing arrangement with one of the leading global marketing companies. He successfully developed a three-shore strategy to delivery order to cash, procure to pay and account to report. This included the fundamental transformation of processes as part of an Oracle implementation.He has also led an eighteen month Shared Services implementation for the largest food services company in the U.S.  This project was to accelerate the movement of Accounting jobs to a Shared Services ahead of an SAP implementation.  The project included the initial transition planning, process design, and implementation support to move over 100 operating companies to the shared services center.  Process improvements were made along the way as well as putting in place Shared Services governance.Mr. Chenault led an eight-month engagement that included a redesign of a Fortune 75 high technology company’s shared services organization. This solution was built around the foundation of a global shared services delivery model, with India, China and Poland serving as key delivery locations and the use of a third-party service provider as the outsourcing partner for the offshore operations. Earlier, he evaluated a Fortune 50 manufacturing company’s shared services global strategy and delivery model in order to select the best global model for the future delivery of F&A, HR, procurement and IT services. Mr. Chenault determined what activities and functions needed to be delivered from the global delivery center and which activities would remain local. In addition, he evaluated external partner models in the market place for a potential hybrid delivery model.Mr. Chenault earned a bachelor's degree in economic studies from Texas A&M University.
