Biography
Craig Beaty is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, advising clients on sales and use tax matters, including reverse audits, audit management and controversy, event-based tax planning, tax process improvement and accounts payable recovery.With more than 30 years of sales and use tax experience, Mr. Beaty has advised companies representing a variety of industries, including multinational integrated energy companies, electric and gas utilities, refining and marketing companies, chemical manufacturers, exploration and production, pipeline and transportation, telecommunication, as well as paper manufacturers, food products manufacturers and service companies. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Beaty was with Ernst & Young for 14 years, where he led the sales and use tax consulting practice for the Gulf Coast region. He previously spent more than six years as an auditor and supervisor with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.Mr. Beaty earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Texas and a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation.
