Biography
David Bergen is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement, focusing on IT performance improvement and CIO advisory.He brings deep expertise in assisting IT organizations improve their operational performance to maximize return on IT investment.Mr. Bergen has advised leading companies in the consumer product, telecommunications, power utilities and retail sectors on a variety of projects, including post-merger integration, IT performance improvement, IT cost-efficiency improvement and IT strategic plans. He has also advised CEO and CIOs on IT effectiveness and on leading outsource / offshore management arrangements and major system integration projects. With more than 25 years of experience in operations, technology consulting and as a CIO, Mr. Bergen has led, engineered and delivered large-scale Fortune 500 global ERP, systems integrations and custom application development projects. He has been responsible for the planning, architecture and integration of operations and technology solutions in support of speed-to-market, cost management and business transformations.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bergen was the Global CIO for Levi Strauss, Duty Free Shoppers and Vice President of Global Applications Development for the GAP. He started his career with Electronic Data Systems based in Dallas.Mr. Bergen earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. He has lectured extensively on IT leadership and organizational effectiveness before senior corporate executives and regional CIO conferences.
