David Kent

Biography

David Kent is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal‘s Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He brings more than 10 years of transaction experience and has provided both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence services to private equity and corporate clients on transactions valued from $20 million to $5 billion. His experience ranges from transactions involving lower- and middle-market acquisition targets to multibillion-dollar complex cross-border projects. Mr. Kent's areas of expertise include identification and assessment of financial risk areas, quantification of items directly impacting transaction valuation (e.g., understanding normalized EBITDA, adequacy of working capital levels, debt items), analysis of key performance indicators, purchase agreement reviews and carve-out transaction implications. Mr. Kent has served clients across a range of industries including manufacturing, retail, consumer products, industrial products, business services, information services, technology, and media and entertainment. He has also led international due diligence transactions for both private equity and strategic buyers. Before joining A&M, Mr. Kent was with the transaction advisory services group of Ernst & Young in New York. At Ernst & Young, he spent seven years in London advising U.K. and European-based private equity and strategic clients. While in London, he spent more than a year seconded to Thomson Reuters corporate development group (2009–2010) primarily focusing on the organization and structuring of two joint ventures. Mr. Kent earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
