Eric Lorge

Biography

Eric Lorge is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in Chicago. With nearly 20 years of mergers and acquisitions experience, he leads cross-functional due diligence engagements for middle-market private equity investors. Mr. Lorge focuses on determining acquisition targets' quality of earnings and working capital requirements through analysis of financial statements and discussions with C-level management to affect purchase price negotiations. He also identifies key business drivers and trends to determine the sustainability of earnings and the growth potential of acquisition targets. He ensures that acquisition and financing agreements reflect the proper deal structure and coincide with financial due diligence findings. He has also evaluated both investor and management forecast models, performed synergy / cost savings determination analyses and completed carve-out / standalone assessments. Before joining A&M, Mr. Lorge was a director of transaction services with KPMG in Chicago, where he led financial due diligence projects for middle-market private equity investors. Previously, he was with the transaction advisory services practice of Arthur Andersen. Earlier, he was with their audit and business advisory services practice, performing audit engagements for both public and private high-growth companies. He was also a senior financial analyst with a publicly-traded specialty retail company. Mr. Lorge earned a bachelor's degree, cum laude, in business administration from the University of Notre Dame. He serves on the board of directors to Namaste Charter School on Chicago's south side.
