Biography
Floris Iking is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Mexico City. With 12 years of financial restructuring experience, he specializes in business diagnostics, restructuring plan development and implementation, cash flow forecasting and contingency planning for corporate turnaround and restructurings. He has also advised several non-distressed companies with the development of financial projection and reporting models and with operational reorganizations. Mr. Iking has significant experience in numerous industries including homebuilding, financial services, technology, gaming, entertainment and broadcasting, manufacturing and agriculture. His advisory assignments include: URBI Desarrollos Urbanos, Brother Industries, Hipotecaria Su Casita, Hines Nurseries, Language Line Services, Citadel Broadcasting, Isola, Quokka Sports, Metricom, U.S. Wireless, HealthCentral.com, OmniSky, Redback Networks and Golden Northwest Aluminum. Prior to relocating to Mexico in 2011, Mr. Iking served for three years in A&M’s Corporate Restructuring group in Los Angeles. Before that, he spent two years in the investment banking division of a bulge-bracket investment bank, two years as an independent restructuring advisor, and four years in the corporate finance division of a turnaround and restructuring advisory firm. Mr. Iking has advised on numerous out-of-court restructuring and Chapter 11 proceedings. He has assisted clients in bankruptcy filing preparations, 13-week cash-flow preparation and cash collateral analysis, preparation and implementation of reorganization plans, and preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance analyses. Mr. Iking holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with distinction from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. in finance and accounting from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) and fluent in Spanish and English.
