Biography

Goris Chan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Beijing, with more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing.He has served in senior operational management roles for multinational corporations and listed companies.Mr. Chan has a wide range of experience in a variety of industries, including telecom, Internet and mobile applications, entertainment, online gaming and education, online shopping, fashion and retail. as well.He has served in key roles for large corporations, including COO for two Honk Kong (HK)-listed companies, VP of Marketing for mobile brands in Greater China, General Manager for a mobile distributor in HK, and CEO for a newly formed online shopping company.Recently, Mr. Chan has been focused on creating new business opportunities, identifying potential consumer markets, restructuring and re-engineering traditional companies’ business models, and an aggressive, fast-rollout turnaround project in China.He reengineered a traditional box-moving mobile phone trading company to become a value-added service distributor, which became profitable and achieved a number one market share within two years. Earlier, he was recruited by Sony Ericsson as the VP Marketing to setup their new marketing team in Greater China. There, he successfully launched Walkman and Cybershot phones, leading the categories of music and camera phones.Previously, Mr. Chan worked with Motorola as Global Retail Director and was assigned to build over 200 Motorola-branded stores across 80 cities in China within one year. Besides telecom, he advised HK several entrepreneurs on the startup, restructuring and reengineering of their companies in China. This included enabling an online shopping company to sell fashion products in conjunction with the leading street fashion magazine “Milk.” He later served as COO, helping Stephen Chow (a famous comedy actor in Asia) start an entertainment company “Bingo Group” and get listed in 2009. The new firm focused on film making, character licensing and cinema.In 2011, Mr. Chan led a de-listed fashion group Tack Fiori International Group to reengineer and restructure their business and then re-list in the same year. There, he acted as the COO, redefining their brand positioning and product strategy, closing 100 unmatched shops and reopening over 60 additional shops in 13 cities within four months.
