Biography

Greg Cibuzar is a Managing Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Transaction Advisory Group in San Francisco. He has ten years of public accounting and consulting experience, specializing in buy-side and sell-side transaction financial due diligence.Mr. Cibuzar advises clients on transaction-related matters, including: analysis of recurring EBITDA and cash flow; assessment of enterprise value; review of purchase agreements and capital structures; analysis of financial statements; identification of value opportunities and deal breakers; and evaluation of working capital and capital expenditure requirements. His clients include: financial buyers, strategic buyers and target companies across numerous industries, including technology, software, retail and manufacturing.Mr. Cibuzar assists clients in building financial models. Specifically, he frequently helps forecast operating results of leading technology companies by evaluating the quality of historical revenue, gross margins and operating expenses, and assessing the impact potential carve-outs or cost cutting initiatives may have on financial forecasts.Recently, Mr. Cibuzar provided sell-side due diligence support for a fortune 500 software company carving-out a non-core business unit. He assisted in preparing offering documents and building the carve-out financial statements. He also participated in management meetings with potential buyers, functioning as the business unit’s primary financial resource.Mr. Cibuzar has performed operational and back office assessments of a private equity targets, as well as leading the review of back office operations and accounting procedures. He has also assisted with the evaluation of manufacturing activities. On one engagement, his efforts resulted in back office improvements and operational synergies totaling more than $3 million (or 30 percent) in annual EBITDA improvement.Mr. Cibuzar earned a bachelor's degree in both finance and accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California. He has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is an active member of the CFA Society of San Francisco.
