Biography
Guido Althaus is a Senior Director with the Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations practice. He brings 20 years of complex national and international experience in dispute services, transaction and valuation as well as restructuring services focusing on M&A disputes, bankruptcy litigation and professional malpractice.Mr. Althaus has led assignments for banks, financial investors, shareholders and their companies.He has expertise in the areas as set out above in accordance with standards issued by the German Institute of Public Auditors (Institut der Wirtschaftsprüfer in Deutschland e.V., IDW) as well as different rules of arbitration. In this context, Mr. Althaus is also appointed by the German Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (Wirtschaftsprüferkammer, WPK) as arbitrator. Mr. Althaus has acted as both independent expert and party-engaged advisor. He has worked with clients in a wide range of industries and predominantly on assignments in Europe, the United States and Asia. Mr. Althaus has led approximately 200 projects across several industries providing:He earned a degree in business administration from the Goethe University Frankfurt (Diplom-Kaufmann) and is German Certified Public Accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer). Mr. Althaus is a member of the WPK, the IDW and the Deutsche Institution für Schiedsgerichtsbarkeit e.V. (DIS). A German national, he is fluent in German and in English.
