Biography

Jim Callanan is a Managing Director with the ImPART GROUP of Alvarez & Marsal Healthcare Industry Group in Boston. He specializes in revenue growth, market share improvement, quality management and profitability improvement - from design through implementation.With more than 25 years of healthcare consulting experience, Mr. Callanan's professional focus has been on the successful development and implementation of strategic action leading towards sustainable competitive advantage. He has worked with clients in most sectors of the healthcare industry, including national insurers, regional managed care plans, large hospital systems, academic medical centers, community and municipal hospitals, and physician groups to develop innovative approaches towards revenue growth. His market development, financial turn-around, and large scale operational improvement efforts have provided a platform for developing and implementing comprehensive quality management and measurement systems in hospitals. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Callanan served as a co-founder, CEO and principal of ImPART GROUP. Previously, he spent 20 years with Deloitte Consulting and, as a Partner, held a variety of leadership positions, including National Partner-in-Charge of Managed Care Services, Eastern Region HC Leader, and as a member of firmwide Partner Development and Selection Committees. Before joining Deloitte, Mr. Callanan was with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. Mr. Callanan earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia College and a master's degree in business administration, with a concentration in finance, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
