Janice Dimaria

Biography

Janice DiMaria is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Financial Industry Advisory Services in Philadelphia, specializing in risk governance, business operations and regulatory issues with expertise in mortgage banking and retail credit lending. Ms. DiMaria has more than 30 years of combined experience in regulatory supervision and banking. Prior to joining A&M, she served for 24 years as a National Bank Examiner and Retail Credit Expert for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). She possesses an extensive working knowledge of interagency retail regulatory policy and guidance, as well as of U.S. banking matters. A significant portion of Ms. DiMaria's career at the OCC was devoted to its Large Bank Supervision program specializing in mortgage banking and credit card lending. In her role, she had direct responsibility for identifying, measuring and monitoring key aspects of these areas as well as addressing emerging risks at some of the largest and most complex national banking institutions in the United States and United Kingdom affiliates. As a retail credit expert, Ms. DiMaria served as a national resource, providing technical guidance and support for retail credit supervisory activities. While at the OCC, Ms. DiMaria earned a specialty skill designation in mortgage banking and credit card lending. Particular areas of her technical expertise include mortgage and credit card origination, account management, and operational areas involving collections / default management and recoveries. She was directly involved in supervising institutions to ensure adherence to Regulatory Interagency Account Management policies and provisions of the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act (CARD ACT), as well as key provisions of OCC Foreclosure Consent Orders. She also possesses technical expertise in retail loan loss reserve and debt collection litigation practices. Previously at the OCC, Ms. DiMaria served as examiner-in-charge and portfolio manager for mid-size and community national banks. During her service, she received several special recognition awards for examination work and in 2012 was the recipient of an OCC Special Act award. Before the OCC, Ms. DiMaria spent five years at Chemical Bank of New Jersey where she served as Assistant Controller. Ms. DiMaria was commissioned in 1994 as a National Bank Examiner and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Richard Stockton State College in Pomona, N.J.
