Biography

Justin Cooper is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in London, with more than 14 years of experience in “big data” analysis and interrogation, financial modeling, dash boarding and visualizations, as well as management reporting.During his time in consulting, Mr. Cooper has undertaken a wide range of assignments both in the U.K., Europe and the Middle East and across a wide range of industries and sectors, including: technology, media, retail, insurance, real estate, manufacturing and financial services.Designed post restructuring Manufacturing Footprint Optimisation model’s, including a billion euro European adhesives supplier, a multi million dollar global packaging leader and a European Frozen Food manufacturer. Worked with the client to understand their factory production schedules and product mix.These enabled scenarios for modelling factory closures along with modelling the individual product allocation and production in the new locations.Helped  a national media company develop KPIs across their business focussing on streamlining their management reporting and enabling dynamic reporting of customer contact metrics.Worked for a online UK based subscription business to analyse customer lifetime value, profitability and churn data and develop subsequent management reports. He implemented numerous bespoke data analysis, including developing the reporting solutions “Quickcash” system for rapid AP and AR analysis of late payments and discounts  and “Quickstock” for inventory reduction, product profitability and product SKU rationalisation which produce on demand dashboards highlighting current  issues.  Built a forecast integrated P&L, balance-sheet, cash flow model for a multi billion dollar Dubai based property developer to model business scenarios and peak working capital reporting to report on viability going forward, to help prioritise future projects.Assisted European arm of a multi billion multinational chemical company while its US operations were in Chapter 11.  Developed cash flow forecasting and actual cash reporting templates to enable the gathering, consolidation and reporting of liquidity for the European region (approx. 40 entities) using VBA.  Developed  a process to extract from the treasury systems, summarise and report actual cash balances and daily cash movements across multiple bank accounts in a range of currencies. Previously incorrect  balances were being reported to the US on a daily basis. Developed and  implemented a labour cost reduction model using productivity targets for an international restaurant chain. The model resulted in Identified 15% labor cost savings target mainly through productivity improvements.Worked with a large multi-national oil industry service provider to extract relevant data from numerous different legacy systems, across over 12 countries, to conduct a full Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and Payroll financial analysis as part of an FCPA investigation.Designed the end to end PPI repayment process for an Irish bank, developing the redress calculators and managing the whole payment lifecycle from initial customer contact, automated redress calculation and subsequent payment.. Mr. Cooper earned a bachelor of science degree in Geology from the University of Manchester a masters science degree in Basin Evolution and Dynamics from Royal Holloway University.
