Biography

Kenneth Dettman is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in Miami, focusing on advising companies on federal and international income tax matters with a concentration in cross-border tax planning, U.S. international income tax compliance and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) related issues. With more than seven years of international tax experience, Mr. Dettman has served a broad range of clients including U.S. and foreign corporations, pass-through entities and individuals. Mr. Dettman has served clients across various industries including professional services, private equity, retail, banking and construction. His experience includes cross-border mergers and acquisitions, federal tax compliance, cross-border financing issues, foreign tax credit planning and tax treaty analysis. Additionally, he is highly specialized on recent developments related to FATCA and tax reform proposals. Mr. Dettman began his career with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degrees in both accounting and international business from the University of Florida. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
