Biography

Kevin Hall is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Disputes and Investigations London practice and has nearly eleven years of experience as a forensic technologist, advising clients on digital evidence, the review and disclosure of electronic documents, incident response and cyber programme reviews. Mr. Hall has been engaged globally by clients, working in various sectors including automotive, aviation, banking, oil & gas, construction, engineering, government authorities and defence, healthcare, information technology, insurance, non-profit, pharmaceutical, tobacco and utilities. Mr. Hall has led investigations in Europe, Asia and Africa and has worked as the forensic technology expert for matters involving alleged cartel activity, anti-trust/competition violations, anti-money laundering, intellectual property theft, fraud, misuse of computers, and network breaches. Mr. Hall has assisted clients with responding to regulatory investigations and/or information requests, focusing on the clients’ electronic evidence and IT infrastructure,  The regulatory agencies Kevin has experience with are the European Commission, Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Services Authority, Financial Crimes Enforcement Agency, Federal Financial Market Supervisory Authority, Independent Commission Against Corruption, Office of Fair Trade and the Security and Exchange Commission. Mr. Hall has been engaged to analyse the infrastructures and assess the information security and risk management policies of FTSE 100 and 250 companies, providing evidence of existing dark web activity involving intellectual property and employee/executive personal information, vulnerabilities in the network, including employee devices, and recommendations for developing a scalable, stronger cyber security programme. Mr. Hall has worked on cyber breach investigations for corporates, solicitors and high net worth individuals, determining whether and/or how systems and data were compromised, including the alleged compromise of shareholder e-mails servers and personal computers that were allegedly compromised by insiders to obtain advanced intelligence in advance of buy-out negotiations. Mr. Hall has managed a large number of e-Disclosure litigation and regulatory driven document reviews. Two examples of engagements involve data collections and electronic document reviews across Europe and APAC. These particular matters related to a dispute over breach of contract and a foreign bank that was being investigated for money laundering by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Agency (FinCEN) and the local financial authorities. In both cases, collections involved over 30 and 60 employees, respectively, and covered historical data restorations from several legacy systems.
