Biography
Koen De Staercke is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Performance Improvement in Munich, focusing on the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. He has deep and broad business experience across Europe and in the U.S., particularly in the food and beverage sector. Mr. De Staercke specializes in operational strategy, focusing on sales, marketing and technology. In recent years, he has focused on pricing and profitability management, helping CPG companies to increase their margin across complex customer, channel and product portfolios in Europe. He has a good understanding of retailer dynamics, having served for many years as an account manager for one of the largest global retailers globally. With more than 23 years of CPG experience, Mr. De Staercke has in-depth experience, both as a consultant for almost 16 years and an operational business leader for more than seven years. This makes him a very pragmatic, hands-on executive with a broad perspective on what ‘best practice’ really means. Before joining A&M, Mr. De Staercke was a senior partner at Deloitte in Belgium, serving as an active member of their global CPG executive team for many years. He was the global lead partner for Anheuser-Busch Inbev (the world’s largest brewer) and Nestlé Waters, and the European lead partner for the Coca-Cola system. In addition, he served multiple mid-market clients, mainly in the food and beverage sector. Earlier, Mr. Koen De Staercke worked for Coca-Cola, both in London and Brussels, in commercial and technology roles. He was also the account manager for Carrefour and channel manager for the hypermarket, CTN and wholesale channels. Mr. De Staercke earned a master’s degree in computer science and an MBA from the Catholic University in Leuven (Belgium). A Dutch native, he is fluent in English and French, and also speaks German.
