Manos Kotronakis

Biography

Manos Kotronakis is a Senior Director with Alvarez and Marsal, bringing more than 20 years of financial and operational experience. Before joining A&M, Mr. Kotronakis spent 11 years with Global Finance, a leading private equity Firm in South-Eastern Europe, as Partner and Chief Operating Officer, based in Athens. Mr. Kotronakis has been responsible for the company’s operations including Finance, HR, IT and Administration. He was also involved in  overseeing the establishment and on-going operation of all investment funds advised by the firm, including all set-up, tax structuring, administration, audit, compliance, reporting and investor relations activities. Mr. Kotronakis was instrumental during the fund-raising process of the firm’s latest private equity funds. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Mr. Kotronakis has served in portfolio management roles in the fish farming, classified ads and e-commerce sectors. He served on the boards of the respective portfolio companies and participated in the strategy formation, the development of their business plans and in the ongoing supervision and review process of their performance. Mr. Kotronakis was also a member of Global Finance’s board of directors and of the funds’ investment committees, where he was also involved in the screening and evaluation of all investment proposals. Mr. Kotronakis worked for 10 years for DIAGEO plc, a global premium drinks business, where he served as Finance Director for Diageo Business Services, based in London. The unit was responsible for the establishment and operation of the firm’s European Service Centre in Budapest, consolidating back-office processes of the company’s European subsidiaries on SAP. During his tenure with DIAGEO, Mr. Kotronakis also held other senior financial roles in several geographic locations. Among others, he served as Financial Planning & Analysis manager in Athens, Finance Manager of a pan-European re-engineering project in business services and supply chain in London, a member of the Grand Metropolitan/Guinness integration team in London and as Finance Manager of the Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong. Mr. Kotronakis earned a bachelor's degree in Business Science from Athens School of Economics, a master's degree in Computer Applications from Cranfield Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in business administration from London Business School. He is a Greek national.
