Biography
Mark Belanger is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Corporate Finance in New York. He brings more than 15 years of investment banking experience, advising companies in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings and financings.At A&M, Mr. Belanger's recent notable transactions include the sales of Recon Construction Services and Medicor, the restructurings of Ziff Davis, Maax Corporation, Sleep Innovations, USI, Direct Group and Arclin and financing for K Hovnanian Homes.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Belanger led the energy and natural resources practice at FTI Capital Advisors, LLC where his transactions included NRG Energy, NewPower, Westcoast Energy, Conectiv, Mirant, NiSource, Indiana Energy, Computalog, Pacalta Resources, DuPont, Weatherford International, International Paper, Camco, Dreco, Abitibi-Price and Vons Companies. He spent 11 years with Credit Suisse First Boston and two years with Bank of America Securities, where he held senior banking positions and was responsible for client coverage as well as origination and execution of M&A mandates for the power and utilities sector. Additionally, Mr. Belanger has significant experience in the forest products, oil services, chemicals, supermarket, automotive and general industrial sectors. Mr. Belanger earned a bachelor's degree from University of Toronto and a master's degree in business administration from University of Western Ontario.
