Biography
Mark Clevenger, a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Houston, specializes in operational and supply chain performance improvement within the oil and gas industry. With more than thirteen years of oil and gas industry experience, Mr. Clevenger has worked with operators and suppliers to drive working capital and EBITDA improvements through improved operations performance, reduced costs, and transaction advisory.Additionally, Mr. Clevenger has extensive oil and gas operations experience having worked with leading upstream E&P and oilfield service companies on transaction due diligence, business plan reviews, G&A cost reduction, manufacturing operations, drilling and completions operations, Lean Six Sigma and supply chain. He has experience across many of today’s leading unconventional resource plays including the Barnett, Bakken, Eagle Ford, Niobrara, Haynesville, and the Permian basin.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Clevenger started his career at Cameron International Corporation in roles including product design, project engineering and manufacturing. His experience includes design, manufacturing and testing of wellheads, gate valves and manifolds for surface and subsea applications. In his last assignment, Mr. Clevenger served as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, where he led efforts to increase capacity and reduce lead times in the manufacture of oil and gas equipment. Mr. Clevenger earned an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin and earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Mr. Clevenger is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a current member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has presented at numerous industry conferences and authored articles in Oil & Gas Investor, World Oil and Oil & Gas Financial Journal on unconventional resource play development strategy.
