Biography

Matson Blocker is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal. He specializes in business transformation within the energy industry. His primary focus has been in IT strategic planning, global program management and operations improvement for downstream and chemicals organizations.Mr. Blocker has more than 27 years of experience leading multiple IT strategic planning and SAP-centric transformation programs. He has led IT landscape optimization programs, and implemented new processes / solutions to improve operational performance in plant environments.Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Blocker spent 27 years with Accenture in Houston, where he most recently served as a Managing Director.  Mr. Blocker led the development of the Accenture Maintenance and Reliability practice and focused on the implementation of operational improvements for a number of oil and gas and chemical clients including ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, BP and Suncor. Mr. Blocker’s notable assignments include IT strategic planning, pipeline maintenance assessment and the GEMS II manufacturing improvement program with ExxonMobil. He led the development of the ERP consolidation strategy, the Operations Management System Program and the Corrosion Management Program for BP; as well as led the scoping and design for the SAP Transformation program for Suncor.Mr. Blocker earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from LSU.  He is a member of the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
