Paul Kinrade

Biography

Paul Kinrade is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal and brings more than 25 years of experience in performance improvement and operational restructuring. He has undertaken numerous Board, advisory and interim management roles to drive improved value and visibility, and diagnose and fix operational under-performance. Mr. Kinrade has worked in numerous countries throughout Europe, the Americas, South East Asia and the Middle East. His industry experience includes oil and gas, chemicals, engineering, automotive, construction and retail. Most recently at A&M, Mr. Kinrade has been supporting an upstream Oil & Gas business in developing and implementing a broad performance improvement programme. Key elements of this programme included driving improved visibility and performance across the global lines of  service (over 30 countries), targeting increased procurement efficiencies and reducing SG&A spend. Prior to this, Mr. Kinrade acted as the Europe Chief Transformation Officer for a global heavy engineering business. In this role he drove an operational restructuring of the €1.5 billion revenue European operations. Key elements of the improvement plan included geographic and product line revenue penetration, supply chain enhancements, infrastructure rationalisation and other cost reductions.. Mr. Kinrade also worked with a global automotive/aerospace parts manufacturer on a wide-ranging operational restructuring and driving improved financial and operational visibility. Acting as the Interim Change Officer, he reported to the Board and sponsors in diagnosing the existing issues, agreeing on prioritised actions and benchmarks and supporting the implementation of the resulting program. Mr. Kinrade also supported the shareholders of a $1.6 billion revenue petrochemicals group on assessing the group's current financial position, identifying value drivers and preparing enhanced business plans, restructuring roadmaps and proposing / negotiating a sustainable capital structure. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kinrade held senior roles with the restructuring division of PwC in the firm's London and New York offices. He started his career with Exxon in their maritime division. Mr. Kinrade earned an MBA from Warwick Business School and has lectured on corporate turnaround  techniques and practicalities at Cambridge University and London Business School. He also worked with Harvard Business School to develop a tailored course in corporate restructuring.
