Biography
Peter A. Briggs is a Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Financial Institution Advisory Services (FIAS) business. He has previously led A&M’s Restructuring practices in the UK, Germany, CEE, and Russia/CIS, and brings more than 30 years of financial services industry and financial and operational restructuring experience to A&M. He has managed financial services businesses, and advised and led companies across a wide range of industries, in North and South America, Europe and the Middle East. Recently, Mr. Briggs managed the Global Loan Portfolio of Lehman Brothers, where he was responsible for the wind down of the $46 billion C&I loan portfolio during the initial phases of Lehman’s US Chapter 11 proceedings. Prior to assuming his current leadership role with FIAS, Mr. Briggs served in a number of other senior executive and advisory roles for A&M clients, including: Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of European Directories S.A., a pan-European yellow pages and online marketing company based in the U.K, Senior Adviser to global packaging manufacturer Chesapeake Corp.; CEO of HP Pelzer, a German tier one automotive components manufacturer with global operations; CRO for multinational textile maker Galey & Lord; Senior Adviser to Mexican denim producer Parras; Chief Restructuring Adviser to Tropical Sportswear Int'l Corp.; COO of healthcare finance company National Century Financial Enterprises, Inc.; CRO for Consumer Financial Services to retailer The Spiegel Group (Eddie Bauer); Senior Adviser to law firm Jenkens & Gilchrist; CRA to auditor Thomas Havey LLP; and Chief Restructuring Adviser to Arthur Andersen LLP.
