Biography

Philip Gore-Randall is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in London with extensive experience leading large private and publicly-held international organizations. He acts as an adviser to A&M. Mr. Gore-Randall serves in advisory and board roles including as Chairman of Fircroft, a global provider of technical recruitment services; Board Committees' Chairman and member of the Executive Committee of Samena Capital, a principal investment group focusing on investments in multiple asset classes on the Indian Subcontinent, Asia and the Middle East. He serves as Global and Asia Chairman of Equiom, a multinational trust and fiduciary business based on the Isle of Man. He is on the board of Topaz Engineering and Marine, a provider of offshore vessels and services to the oil and gas industry and advises the world's largest tile maker, RAK Ceramics and two Government agencies in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: RAK Economic Zone. He is also Chairman of the Executive Committee of a global logistics HQ in Singapore. Previously, he was non-executive Chairman of ERM Group, a global environmental consulting firm. He has served on the board of esure, a UK motor insurer; as an independent member of the International Executive of Hogan Lovells, the international law firm; a member of the Advisory Council of The Prince's Trust and a council member of the Confederation of British Industry. In 2007, Mr. Gore-Randall joined the Board of HBOS plc (Halifax/Bank of Scotland) as COO when it was one of the five major U.K.-based international retail banks and served in that role until it was acquired by Lloyds Banking Group. He was also the HBOS integration director leading up to, and after, the acquisition. Earlier, he was COO of Aon UK, following two years as Chairman and Chief Executive of its Aon Risk Services division. He spent 25 years at Andersen. He held several managing partner roles and was elected U.K. Managing Partner in 1997, having previously run the European Assurance and Advisory practice. In 2001, he became Managing Partner and Global COO and then co-led the worldwide dissolution of Andersen. Mr. Gore-Randall co-founded and co-led Andersen's Global 1000 program, which focused on growing the firm's market share and multi-service penetration of the world's leading companies. Client responsibilities included leading the global relationships with BICC, Tomkins, News Corp. and Senior Engineering and leading the European relationships for BHP and Occidental Petroleum. In 1990, he spent three months working directly with Rupert Murdoch and his other senior advisers on the merger of Sky Television and BSB, which became BSkyB plc. Mr. Gore-Randall has a master's degree in geography from University College in Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.​
