Biography
Robert Lang is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Dallas. He has been trusted by attorneys and companies for more than 20 years to analyze complex commercial disputes and measure the financial impact of external events, operational changes and other market factors. Mr. Lang has testified in bench trials, jury trials, arbitrations and depositions in state and federal venues. Mr. Lang has served as an expert and testified in high profile cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars and has led large investigations into complex economic and accounting issues. He has worked on lost profits claims, valuation disputes, post-acquisition disputes, complex transactional disputes and business interruptions. Mr. Lang has assisted companies across a wide variety of industries and has a particular expertise in the energy industry, dealing with matters throughout the product life cycle. He has assisted E&P, midstream and downstream entities with valuation issues, lost profits transaction support / analysis, business interruptions, royalty disputes and many other matters. Mr. Lang also has provided general strategic and business advisory services to companies, assisting them with buy- and sell-side transaction support, restructuring services, capital raising and strategic reviews. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lang was a Director with Navigant Consulting, where he focused on complex litigation, investigations and other types of disputes. Previously, he was a partner in the disputes practice of a large accounting firm. Mr. Lang earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in financial services from Baylor University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter and is a member of the CFA Society. Mr. Lang serves as a guest lecturer in the Graduate Accounting program at Baylor University, where he also serves on the Advisory Board for the Accounting and Business Law department. He is a frequent speaker, author and instructor on oil and natural gas issues, valuation and financial analysis.
