Biography

Sally Conkright is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in New York. She has more than 30 years of operating and consulting experience in entrepreneurial and Fortune 50 corporate environments and multiple areas of business operations, including general management, corporate governance, administration and human resources. Dr. Conkright has spent her career delivering practical and sustainable results related to strategic transformations that improve performance; uniquely position a business to better serve customers, investors and other stakeholders; respond to disruptive conditions; and build competitive advantage.Dr. Conkright has worked across a number of industries, in both the public and private sectors. As a general manager she increased market share, launched successful new products, grew revenue and profits, led product rationalization initiatives, and established a more balanced and cost-effective approach to customer acquisition and retention. As Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), she served as a trusted adviser to CEOs, executive management and boards in developing human resource strategies that impact strategic direction and overall business results. She has led the integration of both domestic and international acquisitions; established new business operations in international locations; developed and aligned organizational capability with business strategy; led restructuring efforts; and developed corporate transformation strategies that drive accountability, optimize shareholder investments, and achieve strategic and financial objectives. Dr. Conkright has held a number of leadership positions, including President of AxiosXchange LLC, Vice President and CHRO of Scientific Games Corporation, Chief Administrative Officer and CHRO of Converge LLC, Vice President Human Resources and Public Relations of Xerox New Enterprises, Vice President and CHRO of Indigo N.V., and Vice President and General Manager of New England Business Service, Inc.Dr. Conkright’s projects include leading a major product rationalization initiative that eliminated $5 million through process redesign and staff consolidation, and planning and implementing restructuring programs at three large public companies and a nonprofit entity that achieved $100 million in cost reductions. She led the integration of two domestic and three global acquisitions that achieved strategic, operational and financial objectives, and developed a new portfolio of products and services that returned a core business unit to profitable growth following five consecutive years of decline. She aligned and transformed a human resource function to achieve its business strategy while reducing global human resource costs by 25 percent. Dr. Conkright earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and a PhD from The George Washington University. She has and continues to serve on the boards of nonprofit organizations.
