Scott Haug

Biography

Scott Haug is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Los Angeles. He brings more than 25 years of consulting and executive management experience working for some of the world’s most progressive companies to develop growth and targeted value creation strategies. Mr. Haug specializes in go-to market strategy, market opportunity evaluation, innovation acceleration, digital transformation and customer experience improvement, including operating model design. He has significant experience leading large-scale process improvement and business transformation initiatives, particularly around post-merger integration of customer-facing functions and sales effectiveness challenges. Mr. Haug is an expert in actionable approaches to understanding customer needs. He recently served as a Board Advisor to Nuevora, an “analytics as a service” provider. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Haug was a Partner with Waterstone Management Group, a boutique strategy consulting firm focusing on the technology and fintech ecosystems. Clients included Fortune 500 companies and private equity firms / portfolio companies with an emphasis on growth-related engagements. His focus was around disruptive technology solutions requiring new business models and sales strategies (e.g., IoT, payments, omni-channel, “as a service” plays). Prior to joining Waterstone, Mr. Haug was an executive with MasterCard and a member of the pre-IPO senior leadership team within the Advisory Services business. His responsibilities included driving next generation payments strategies, evaluating emerging solutions and managing strategic relationships. Mr. Haug was previously a Vice President with Capgemini’s Strategy & Transformation practice, Partner with Ernst & Young’s Strategy practice, co-led Cresap/Towers Perrin’s Sales Effectiveness practice, and managed a joint venture with a Japanese consulting firm (Corporate Directions, Inc., a Boston Consulting Group spinoff). He started his career with AT Kearney. He has served on multiple nonprofit boards including the Pyramid Autism Center, Growers First, Laguna Beach SchoolPower and The Living Desert. Mr. Haug earned an MBA in finance and marketing from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and bachelor’s degrees in economics and international relations with honors from UC Berkeley. He was recently named one of UCLA Anderson’s “100 Most Influential MBA Alumni.”
