Biography
Suneel Mandava, a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal LLC, has spent the substantial portion of his 21 year career working with or supporting companies executing strategic financial transactions such as recapitalizations and mergers & acquisitions. His experience ranges across industries including energy, business services, telecom, financial services and auto suppliers. Mr. Mandava has experience serving both public and private companies of all sizes. At A&M, Mr. Mandava helps clients with liquidity management and business plan review. Most recently, he assisted Halcón Resources prepare for its pre-packaged bankruptcy filing by leading a small team to outline its cash cycle and develop a 13 week cash flow forecast. In addition, Mr. Mandava assisted Penn Virginia implement a G&A cost reduction plan in addition to other highly visible operating activities. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mandava spent two years in global corporate treasury at Motorola Solutions where he was responsible for corporate finance and Latin America treasury. Among other accomplishments, he helped the company complete a $4 billion+ pension de-risking transaction (the 3rd largest of its kind), a $4.5 billion capital raise and $2 billion tender offer for common shares. Mr. Mandava's area of responsibility covered Latin America treasury, funding, rating agency relationships, FX risk management, oversight of global pension asset management, share repurchases and international cash repatriation. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Mandava spent ten years advising clients on complex financial restructurings serving the mid-market at William Blair and large capitalization companies at Lazard. His experience encompasses POR negotiations, financing, M&A, valuation and debt capacity. Mr. Mandava testified on behalf of clients on numerous occasions with respect to valuation and financing matters. Mr. Mandava earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business with a triple concentration in finance, accounting and statistics. He graduated magna cum laude and was consistently on the Dean's list. Mr. Mandava passed the CPA examination as well on his first attempt.
