Victor Burk

Biography

Victor Burk is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Houston. As leader of the firm’s energy practice, he manages a team of over 100 A&M professionals who help energy companies improve their performance, solve their most complex problems and deal with many of the challenges they face in today’s competitive environment. Mr. Burk has provided professional services to companies in the energy industry for more than 40 years. During his career, Mr. Burk's clients have included major international oil companies, state-owned oil companies, independent E&P companies, refiners and companies that provide capital and services to the energy industry.Before joining Alvarez & Marsal in 2009, he was an executive search consultant with Spencer Stuart, a global executive search firm. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2005, he was in public accounting for 33 years. He was the Managing Partner of the global oil and gas practices for Deloitte & Touche for three years (2002-2005) and for Arthur Andersen for 12 years (1990-2002). He began his professional career in 1972 with Arthur Andersen in Houston. Mr. Burk is a current board member of EV Energy Partners (NASD: EVEP), Plains GP Holdings (NYSE: PAGP), the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Independent Petroleum Association of America (Southeast Texas Region). He is a past member of the National Petroleum Council and past board member of the Houston Producers Forum. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University.
