Biography

Wendy Hallmark is a Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal in Houston, specializing in strategy, organizational effectiveness and transformational change initiatives. She has a proven track record of helping organizations improve performance. With more than 20 years of consulting and industry experience, she has worked in a variety of industry sectors including: oil and gas, waste management and recycling, procurement management, foodservice and distribution, retail and financial services. Her experience focuses on management strategy, behavioral change management, organizational development and design. Ms. Hallmark has been working with a major energy company on several organizational capability initiatives. These include integrating change management into existing project management methodologies, redesigning the IT organization to be more responsive to its customers and developing engagement models to maintain alignment between IT and the rest of the business. Before joining A&M, she was a strategic planning manager for Chevron’s Energy Technology Company, establishing new resource-based planning processes to better integrate strategic staffing efforts. Her previous roles at Chevron included managing behavioral change management and operations for the integrated decision environment project, leading communications and marketing for their IT function, establishing an IT competency management system and creating a college-hire rotational development program. Earlier, Ms. Hallmark was Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Sysco Corp., designing and launching Sysco Interactive University, an eLearning portal, resulting in a 30 percent sales increase on targeted products. She created an employee retention program, reducing turnover in targeted positions by 28percent and implemented a continuous improvement-based workplace safety program. This reduced injuries by 40 percent over an 18-month implementation, savings o$4 million. In addition, she served on the National Restaurant Association’s Training Advisory Board. Previously, she consulted for McKinsey & Company in retail and consumer products and spent seven years with GE Capital as a program manager in commercial finance. Ms. Hallmark earned a BBA from The University of Texas at Austin in Marketing and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, with a triple concentration in management strategy, marketing and international business. She is a PROSCI-certified instructor in change management methodology.
