Biography
Greg Abbott is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand in Atlanta, focusing on multi-state tax matters. He has more than 18 years of experience advising clients on income and franchise tax issues in various industries, including manufacturing, real estate, financial services, and retail. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Abbott spent eight years in industry as the State Income Tax Director at Home Depot, Koch Companies Services, and Georgia-Pacific. Mr. Abbott also spent more than 10 years at Arthur Andersen, E&Y, and Deloitte where he consulted extensively with clients on state and local income tax issues related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and corporate reorganizations. Mr. Abbott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctor from Emory University. He has frequently facilitated at the Council on State Taxation state and local taxation schools.
