Biography
Dr. Barbara Rys is the Professor of Chemistry in Jagiellonian University. Her main interest is in the relationship between the conformation and the properties of organic compounds. Her group study the conformation of heterocyclic molecules possessing medium-sized rings with various functionalities in order to fi nd the factors, both steric and stereoelectronic, determining ground-state geometry of the molecules. We use nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and computational methods to examine conformation and conformational processes.
