Jacek Woźny

Biography

Professor zw. dr hab. Jacek Woźny was born in Bydgoszcz, lives and works here. After graduating from Fordon Elementary School No. 1 he began his studies at the VI Secondary School, completing his maths in mathematics and physics. In the years 1980 - 1982 he attended the inland school of inland navigation in Bydgoszcz, receiving the title of inland waterway technician. In 1982 he started his studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In 1987 he obtained a master's degree in archeology with specialization in underwater archeology and conservation of archaeological monuments.

Research Interest

From the beginning of his research at the home institution until now, Professor Jacek Woźny has published about 140 scientific papers, including seven monographs. He participated in lectures at nearly 60 conferences, both domestic and foreign, presenting his research on the ancient religions of Europe and Poland, the prehistory of Polish lands and the archeology of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. He was a reviewer of a dozen scientific monographs and an opinioner of several research projects in the MNiSZW competitions. Professor cooperates with the Regional Office for the Protection of Monuments, for which he prepared several dozen archeological analyzes and expertises. It belongs to the program council of the District Museum im. Leon WyczóÅ‚kowski in Bydgoszcz, is the Vice-President of the Bydgoszcz Scientific Society. He belonged to the European Association of Archaeologists. He is also a member of the Committee of Methodology and Theory of Archaeological Research of the Committee of Scientific and Protohistorical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences."
