Biography
Saif Rayyan received his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1999. Then he attended Virginia Tech when he earned a Masters Degree followed by a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics in 2007. Saif then joined the department of physics at Beloit College as a Teaching Fellow, where he started to focus more on physics teaching pedagogy and education research. In 2009, Saif started working with Prof. David Pritchard at MIT as a postdoctoral associate in physics education research. In 2012, Saif started working within the Physics Department on the development and research of MOOCs, as well as online modules for use in the TEAL classroom. Saif has managed the creation of several Physics Department MOOCs, including 8.01x, 8.02x and 8.MReV.
Research Interest
"Saif Rayyan’s Primary research interests are in physics education research, online learning methodology, and evaluating the best practices in Physics Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
