Biography
Elżbieta Anna Trafny graduated from the Faculty of Biology at Warsaw University, graduating in 1983. In the years 2004-2014 she was the head of the Department of Microbiology of the Institute of Microbiology. Since 2014 she has been employed at the Biomedical Engineering Center of the Institute of Optoelectronics at the Institute of Optoelectronics. As part of his activities she is currently involved in the use of molecular biology and nanotechnology to develop innovative medical technologies. In the years 2012-2014 she served as Scientific Expert of the Independent Scientific Evaluation Group in the NATO Science for Peace and Security Research Program. In 2013 appointed by the Minister of Health as Deputy Chairman of the National Certification Commission for the Elimination of Poliomyelitis. She is a member of the National Chamber of Laboratory Diagnostics and a longtime member of the editorial board of the journal "Advances in Microbiology".
Research Interest
Elżbieta Anna Trafny has broad interests in the microbiology. Her research thus far has focused on adhesion of bacteria, biofilm properties, mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis in chronic infections and modern microbiological diagnostics of clinical and environmental samples.
