Biography
José Carlos da Silva Costa is a member of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of Galp since November 2012 and is responsible for various corporate services and for the Sourcing, Refining and Planning business.José Carlos da Silva Costa was born in Porto, Portugal, and is 53 years old. He has been a member of Galp’s Board of Directors since November 2012 and a member of the Executive Committee since December 2012, and is responsible for various corporate services and for the Sourcing, Refining and Planning business. With over two decades of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain and Project Management, he is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Refining and Trading Oil, after several leadership roles in the Company, namely as CCO in the 2012-2014 period, whilst member of the Executive Committee. Currently, in the capacity of CCO, he is responsible for the corporate services of Engineering, Project Management and Procurement. His professional experience also includes the automotive and tourism industries. José Carlos da Silva Costa holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Porto Instituto Superior de Engenharia (School of Engineering) and specialised training in Quality Management, Information Systems and Innovation.
