Biography
"My interest and expertise is focused in the field of Bioinformatics. My basic university background is in Biology, thus I am able to understand the underlying mechanisms that run a biological process, while my postgraduate experience in a computer science laboratory, granted me with the capability of analyzing huge amounts of data in several projects in which my group has been involved during the seven years of my MSc and PhD studies. My experience in bioinformatics has evolved following the tendencies of the period in which it was developed. Thus, the general areas I have been working on comprise from microarrays analysis to de novo assembly using different technologies, including software development and in general all the analysis involved in a genomic project such as markers detection, functional annotation or RNA-seq experiments.
