Biography
"I had just finished my PhD in a project where I investigate the functional role of a secondary sexual trait in the Serin (Serinus serinus): the carotenoid-based colouration of the plumage of males. My main objectives are to determine whether colouration is an indicator of condition and health; and how parasites and testosterone affect ornamentation. Before starting the PhD at the University of Coimbra, I worked in a project whose main goal was to determine the function and evolution of two social and sexual traits of the Serin: song and ornamentation of males."
Research Interest
My research interests focus on animal behaviour.
