Biography
Rui Paulo da Costa Cunha e Silva Gonçalves was born in Porto, Portugal, and is 49 years old. He has been a member of Galp’s Board of Directors since May 2008. He has also been a director and General Manager of Amorim – Investimentos Energéticos, SGPS, S.A. since December 2007. He is Chairman of the Board of the General Shareholders Meeting of Amorim Holding II, SGPS, S.A. Before joining Galp, he practised Law in Porto and was visiting Lecturer at the Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing (IPAM) on the degree course and on various post-graduate courses between 2004 and 2007. He was legal adviser to the Unicer Group from 2002 and 2007 and, at the same time, Deputy Director of the Legal Office of the same group. He was also Chairman of the Board of the General Shareholders Meeting of Banco BIC Português, S.A. between 2008 and 2012. Rui Paulo Gonçalves has a post-graduate degree in Management for law graduates from the School of Economic and Business Sciences of the Universidade Católica and a Degree in Law from the Law School of the same university.
