Biography
Nuno Mendes is a Software Engineer at HeartGenetics. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Information Systems and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and has a dual PhD in Information Systems and Computer Engineering by the Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon) and in Bioinformatics by the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. After working as a Senior Developer for 4 years during his BSc, he decided to pursue an academic experience in the field of Computational Biology. He was involved in the development of tools for the identification of cis-acting regulatory motifs, microRNA precursors and their targets, and qualitative modelling of gene regulatory networks, having published several papers in peer- reviewed journals.
