Rui De Oliveira Neves

Biography

Rui de Oliveira Neves, lawyer and master in laws, has been counsel to national and international companies and the Portuguese government, with particular emphasis to the areas of energy and capital markets, being acknowledged by the market as leading lawyer in such areas of practice. For 15 years he practiced law at Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associates, where he attained a partner position, having recently took office as General Counsel of Galp Energia responsible for the Legal, Compliance and Corporate Secretary department. He is as well executive board member of ISPG – Institute of Petroleum and Gas, Association for advanced training and research. In the academic side he is visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in the area of energy law. He is member of the Governance Lab, group of 38 authors who are dedicated to the research and discussion on topics related to private and public corporate governance, with a view to actively contribute to the progress of practices, recommendations and legal rules. Author of various specialized publications in the areas of corporate law, corporate governance and capital markets.
