António Manuel da Rocha e Menezes Cordeiro   Personal Details: • Place of Birth – Coimbra • Date of Birth – 1953 Academic Career: • Degree in Law from the University of Lisbon in 1975 • Doctorate in Law from the University of Lisbon in 1985 • Awarded a grant in the Faculty of Law in Munich and has been and continues to be active in other universities, specifically in Germany, France, Italy, Canada, the USA and Brazil, as well as in Angola, Guinea, Macao and Mozambique. • At the end of an academic career begun in 1977, always pursued through examination and public competition, he was made professor at the University of Lisbon and at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he is on unlimited leave. • He was chairman of the Board of Governors of the Faculty of Law of Lisbon (1989-91), having been chairman of its Scientific Board (1999-2001) and of its Meeting of Representatives (2005- 2007, lastly) • He taught Civil Law – Introduction, General Theory, Law of Obligations and Real Rights – of Economic Law, Labour Law, Banking Law, Commercial Law, Corporate Law and the Philosophy of Law.
