Biography
Filipe Silva did Msc in Electrical and Computer Engineering (specialization area: Energy) from Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon. He develops since 2004 low level hardware and software for wireless biosignals acquisition within PLUX. Since 2001, he his researcher and senior developer at Instituto de Optimização Aplicada (Lisbon), where he developed a software application for planning of electrical energy distribution networks. Between 2000 and 2001 he was manager of the system at the Network Studies Department of Rede Eléctrica Nacional, S.A. (REN). In 1997 he was awarded with the first prize at the Galileu IV creation and invention contest. In 1996 he developed a software for the Portuguese Institute of Quality (IPQ – Instituto Português da Qualidade) that allowed the automatic synchronization of the PC's internal clock with the Universal Coordinated Time maintained at IPQ.
