Biography
With a PhD in Computer Science and as an Associate Professor at University of Minho, his research has been mainly devoted to Bioinformatics and Systems Biology with a special focus on the development of methods for the modeling and optimization of biological systems. He was a visiting researcher at the European Bioinformatics Institute, in Cambridge, UK. His main achievements include over 100 publications in international top-tiered journals and conferences, as well as leading and participating in several funded projects both in academics and industry. He was also co-founder of the M.Sc. in Bioinformatics course at University of Minho, Portugal.
