Biography
Magín Yáñez joined The Boston Consulting Group in 2000. He is a core member of the firm’s Energy and Industrial Goods practices. Magín’s focus is on power and utilities, especially in projects involving strategy, corporate development, and transformation. He has more than 15 years of experience working in BCG’s offices in Iberia, Boston, and Brazil for energy companies in Europe, the US, Latin America, the Mediterranean basin, and the Asia-Pacific region. He heads the firm’s power sector for Iberia and Latin America. Magín has advised regulators and governments across the European Union, Spain, Latin America, and Southeast Asia on how to define energy models and on appropriate retribution schemes. He has also advised private-equity firms and infrastructure funds to invest in or divest themselves of energy-division spin-offs. In addition to working in the energy and industrial goods sectors, Magín has clients in telecommunications, information, media, and electronics. Before joining BCG, Magín created an Internet e-commerce enabler and worked at J.P. Morgan and Arthur D. Little as a business analyst and consultant.
