Biography
Sergio Figuerola is a core member of The Boston Consulting Group’s Energy, Corporate Development, Operations, and Social Impact practices.Since joining BCG in 2001, Sergio has worked extensively in the utilities sector, in particular in power generation and wholesale markets, and he also has deep experience in the LNG and renewables sectors. His client work has covered operational improvement in power generation; new business development; business unit strategy definition; and regulation development in the power, gas, and renewable sectors. Sergio has helped numerous energy and utilities clients develop and implement cost-reduction programs and revenue-enhancement initiatives, and he has also led engagements to renegotiate long-term contracts. In addition, he has partnered with a wide range of organizations to define and materialize growth strategies, identify new business opportunities, and develop long-term transformation plans. Prior to joining BCG, Sergio worked as project manager for Powertec, a generation engineering company.
