Biography
Carlos Castilho Pais has been a lecturer at the Open University since 1989. He continues to practice at the same institution with the category of assistant professor, to which he gained access after obtaining a Doctorate degree (2000) in the area of ​​Portuguese Studies and in the specialty of Translation Studies . With regard to Research, it has been dedicated to the study of the areas in which the curricular units of which it was or are responsible are inserted: translation studies, Portuguese teaching, African literatures of Portuguese expression and Portuguese history. He was member of several scientific committees of national and international congresses and belongs to the scientific committee of several international magazines. He presided over or participated in doctoral and master's juries in Portugal and Spain and directed three master's theses and three theses doctoral degree.
